Student Computers After the Thanksgiving Break, students were greeted with six super-fast, sleek, and safe ChromeBooks thanks to the PTA. The Mac computers installed twelve years ago could no longer receive system updates and had a few operational glitches. Children were so delighted with the new machines and took to them right away, being more comfortable using the integrated touchpad rather than a separate mouse component. The smaller profile of the ChromeBooks enables better monitoring of student technology use. We have much to be thankful for at Grand View this Thanksgiving and heading into the Season of Light! Circulation Desk Computers Many thanks to GV PTA for replacing the two library circulation desk computers in September. The old machines could no longer receive system updates due to their age. The new computers feature a wider screen which is much easier to read, and they have a tidy physical profile with fewer wires for a clean, modern look. Presentation Station And a huge thank you to GV PTA for replacing the failing SmartBoard in October with a brand new ViewSonic interactive ViewBoard. The SmartBoard could no longer receive system updates due to its age. The new ViewBoard has a crisper image and built-in touch capabilities that bring next-generation presentation capabilities to library program content.
