The Navajo language is ideally suited to be an unbreakable code. When WWII ended, the Code Talker program was kept a military secret for decades. It was many years before the Code Talkers could be honored for their service.

A true story of a feral dog in war-torn Iraq who is befriended by an American Marine, then embarks on a treacherous journey to find him when the man is stationed seventy miles away.

Follow-up Nubs passed away in 2018 of Cushing's Disease after living with Brian and his family for ten happy years. Nubs, the loner desert dog who became a beloved family pet, is buried in Corpus Cristi, Texas, with a view of the ocean where he loved to play.

Crafty Connection Students can color their own camouflaged fish. Supplies: this fish coloring page printed out, a sheet of colorful patterned wrapping paper measuring at least 8" x 11", scissors, crayons or markers, tape or glue. Directions: cut out the fish shape, tape or glue it to the piece of wrapping paper, color in the fish using similar colors and patterns that match the wrapping paper.
