Week of November 16, 2020 - Fifth Grade - How to Borrow Books

Picture
Beginning Friday, 11/20, 5th grade students will join 4th grade students in checking out books from the Grand View Library. We will add more grade levels as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience. 5th grade students will be taught the hold process on 11/17 during their Library Zoom sessions.
Today, students will be shown how to:
  • Navigate to the catalog from the library website
  • Log in using their unique username and generic password
  • Search for a book and place it on hold
  • Rate a book and write a brief review
  • Log out and create a personal password (recommended)
  • Video Here are the steps as explained by Mrs. Primm, the Library Resource Specialist at Meadows Elementary. The process is the same --just select the Grand View Library Catalog when prompted, rather than the Meadows Library Catalog.
Steps to pick up the holds:
  • Holds may be picked up every Friday from the bench by the Grand View front office, from 11:15am-12:30pm.
  • Face coverings must be worn. Maintain social distance.
  • Holds will be wrapped to maintain cleanliness and will have the student's name on them.
  • Books may be returned Monday-Friday to the Book Drop outside of the front office between 8:00am-1:00pm.
  • Returned books will be quarantined following American Library Association guidelines and cleaned before being checked out again.
